Vagabond Skies The Van Gogh Musical: gut-wrenching and uplifting in equal measure, this extraordinary must-see production depicts Vincent's later years. Emotive songs and vivid artwork portray resilience despite a life consumed by mental turmoil and failed relationships. As a sung through biographical musical, compelling musical performances and poignant lyrics, interlinked by the actual letters exchanged between two brothers, bring the stage alive.

A vocally strong cast sing some subpar songs about Vincent Van Gogh.

The choreography and direction in this musical was second only to the performers executing them, however the content they were working with only allowed them to succeed so far. The script and score were altogether lacking entertainment value, and it seems all focus was given to visual production elements such as costume and video design (both of which exceeded the expected standard for a Fringe run).

It is unusual in such a large group to pick just one standout actor however in this show it was easy - Sacha Koplewsky’s mannerisms, facial expressions, and all round characterisation was outstanding.
