Rock of Ages
Rating: ★★★★★
Venue: Sanctuary at Paradise in Augustines, Edinburgh

Following a string of five-star, sell-out productions, Bare Productions return with the electrifying hit Rock of Ages! This high-energy, feel-good musical is packed with powerhouse vocals, epic guitar solos, and all your favorite 80s rock anthems. Set on LA’s iconic Sunset Strip, it tells the hilarious and heartfelt story of love, dreams, and the fight to save a legendary rock‘n’roll nightclub from ruthless developers.

Bare Productions brings to the stage an electrifying rendition of Rock of Ages. There is enough information about this jukebox online so I shall use my word count here to tell you about this run particularly.

They have choreographed the numbers to the nines - with no dead space or time in sight. Every beat is not only filled but utilised as effectively as possible for what is actually quite a small space for such a large cast.

Speaking of which, it is entirely impossible to spotlight just one or two of the team as ‘standouts’ as they were all, genuinely, amazing. During chorus-heavy moments I actively chose to pay less attention to the (albeit phenomenally talented) principals to ensure I had time to watch every single ensemble member - otherwise I'd really be missing out!

I would happily pay to see this as a professional production and cannot wait to watch what these incredible performers do next.
