A charmingly dark, whimsically adult, joyously subversive, musical delight! Starring our titular character, Potty! A singing, talking, tap dancing, potted plant. When mysterious events begin to occur at Little Boo Boo's General Hospital, a ragtag bunch of dysfunctional nurses must pull together to save the day. What could be happening to all the missing children? Will the beautiful Miss Lacey ever find true love? Is there more to the nasty-looking Dr Acula than meets the eye?
Potty the Plant is a familiar fringe favourite that seems to have lost its funny bones.
The story is...a bit much and also entirely not enough. Dracula (the vampire) disguises himself as a doctor to have unrestricted access to all the blood he wants. Ash K-B plays this role with no hesitation but unfortunately equally as little pitch awareness. None of the songs fit their voice, and would be much better appreciated if performed by someone more capable of the material.
The ensemble of nurses believe the phlebotomist is in fact a paedophile so set out on a mission to expose him with the help of the tiny pot plant puppet who lives in Dr. Acula’s office.
It's all a bit here and there with no actual through line but definitely a bit of fun if you're up for silly songs and a potentially poor plot.
