Lady Macbeth Played Wing Defence

Rating: ★★★★
Venue: Studio One at Assembly George Square Studios, Edinburgh

Set in the cut-throat world of competitive netball, this cautionary tale explores the consequences of unchecked ambition and the fierce determination of teenage girls. This energetic production breathes new life into a literary classic, underpinned by an electropop soundtrack. This contemporary turmoil entangles the timeless allure of Shakespearean drama, presented by an all-female powerhouse team of West Australian artists.

Pretty in pink or purely poisonous? A lesbian's dream in bubblegum Barbies.

Except these dolls are out for blood...well not quite. Mac is desperate to be captain of the Dustanane Hellhounds and will do whatever it takes to reach her goals - literally.

~ Friendships = Ruined
~ Ankles = Broken
~ Prophecy = Fulfilled?

VERY loosely based on the story of *that* Shakespeare play, House of Oz brings us this all girl, all Australian musical set at an interschool netball tournament. All the performers had incredible voices and I have already downloaded the soundtrack on Spotify! They absolutely nailed the stereotypes for each position and whether you know the game or not, you can clearly see where everyone stands in the pack.

So, pick your fighter - are you a shooting sensation or a dramatic defender? See you on the court, bitch.
