After being pushed over the edge by the most popular kids at school, four-eyed wallflower Nancy Nelson cries to the heavens for help! But it is Satan who hears her cry. The Devil transforms Nancy into a big-haired, foul-mouthed, sex bomb rocker who's hungry for souls, and sweet revenge is on the menu! Who will save Nancy? And will the power of love for who she really is break the spell before its too late?
Picture it: Heathers (the original film) and Beetlejuice (honestly, any of them) have a lovechild and it's performed at 11pm in Edinburgh at the top of a Radisson Blu.
This show was the pinnacle of 80s cult classic movies-come-musicals, except it was a totally original story!
The Plot: Nerdy girl wants boy. Boys say ew, no. Devil comes out of the toilet(?) and steals her soul in exchange for a makeover. She gets boobs and beauty but goes mad and kills her friends.
The Costumes: The absolute highlight - it felt like I was back on MySpace searching for fashion inspo.
The Cast: outstanding for the most part, with one or two seeming less capable of handing the material (or the height of their heels)...
Yeah. It was cool.
