A funny, heartwarming journey through classic cinema, seen through the lens of five friends who know… absolutely nothing about film history. As they encounter legends like Charlie Chaplin, Ginger Rogers and Alfred Hitchcock, they discover far more than they expected. Combining music, dance and film, Reel to Real is a joyful exploration of creativity and self-discovery. Bedazzle Inclusive Productions celebrates their 20th anniversary this year, marking two decades of championing and amplifying disabled actors.Live captions. Dance sequences. Speedy costume changes. A diverse and talented cast. What more could you ask for?
This 50 minute musical production takes its audience on a journey through time and space (well, film). When a group of young aspiring artists enter a movie making competition, their knowledge, skills, and friendship are all put to the test. With a completely devised script which is performed with so much energy and passion, alongside some clever directorial decisions, it's hard not to love this one.
Working with a range of ages and abilities is never easy, especially with the added pressures of the Fringe Festival, but these guys sailed through their performance - including the management of multiple props and set pieces with almost no additional backstage space.
Having a shorter running time than most shows, and genuinely offering some insightful and educational material, this production could easily be of interest to a wide range of audiences - not an easy feat!
