supperclub tube
has been providing fine dining to thousands of customers since 2019 and in the most unlikely of settings. Situated at Walthamstow's Pumphouse Museum, three nights a week, the 1967 Victoria line tube carriage is transformed into a restaurant and seats up to 35 guests per session.

While the menu is ever-changing, at the moment, it's currently home to a six course fine dining meal inspired by Latin America, with the head chef herself being from Colombia. Before the dining experience begins, the chef addresses the carriage and gives us a brief history into some of the dishes, which is a personal touch that only heightens the experience.

After being served our bread baskets, the evening officially begins. The chef explains that corn and potatoes are the focal point of the menu, but the variety of flavours is astounding. The first dish was Colombian empanadas, which were the highlight for me. Filled with tender beef brisket, potatoes and in a crispy corn shell. Followed by a mash and beetroot second course, and a fish/seafood tostada.

With course four comes carnitas, with two varieties of pork; pork loin and pulled pork, served with an array of seasonal vegetables. The portion sizes, particularly course four, are much larger than anticipated for a tasting menu, so I'd advise going with a very empty stomach!

The pre-dessert is a passionfruit chocolate dome, decorated with a sugar butterfly and glitter...which looked almost too beautiful to eat! The evening ends with a bananas foster-style dish, complete with cake and coconut ice cream. However, my gluten free counterpart was a pear tart, and it was quite simply exceptional.

Every dish came beautifully presented and was exploding with flavour. As someone that doesn't typically have the most refined palate, there was not a single dish that I didn't enjoy, and as you venture across Latin America with the dishes and flavours, you'd be hard pressed not to find something you love from the evening.

While the food was sensational, it was the attention to detail, the service and adjustments for dietary requirements (I'm gluten free) that elevated the evening to another level. If you're looking for a unique fine dining experience in London where you can tell the food is made with love, look no further.
